Dr. David C. Berry currently serves as Department Chair, Professor, and Coordinator of the Health and Physical Education K-12 and Rehabilitation Medicine Bachelor of Science degree programs in the Department of Kinesiology at Saginaw Valley State University, University Center, MI. Dr. Berry also serves as the subject matter expert for first aid and emergency preparedness for the American Red Cross and American Heart Association.  

Dr. Berry is a 1993 graduate of the University of Massachusetts-Lowell with a Bachelor of Science in Health Education, a 1995 graduate of Sacred Heart University with a Master of Arts in Teaching, Concentration Health Education, a 1997 graduate of Western Michigan University with a Master of Arts in Physical Education (Concentration Athletic Training), earned his Doctorate of Philosophy from Ohio University in Curriculum and Instruction, in 2001, and another Master of Science Health Administration and Leadership in 2016 from Saginaw Valley State University. Dr. Berry is a certified and licensed athletic trainer, and holds a LEAN Silver Certification from the Henry Ford Health System (2016) and a Certificate of Completion in Improvement Capability from the Institute of Healthcare Improvement (2015).

Dr. Berry has been recognized for his professional accomplishments by several organizations, having received awards from the American Red Cross, Board of Certification, Inc., National Athletic Trainers’ Association, Great Lakes Athletic Trainers Association, Michigan Athletic Trainers' Society, the Aquatic Therapy and Rehabilitation Institute, and Saginaw Valley State University.
